My name is Tom Parsons.
I am a portrait photographer based in Sandwich, Kent, working nationally and internationally. My practice is centred on character-led and classical legacy portraiture — a considered approach to portrait photography that values presence, character, and permanence over trend or performance. Alongside standard portrait sessions, I offer a more considered commission which is the Legacy Portrait™. This is a return to the idea of the portrait as a statement and something designed to exist in its own right for generations to come. It is a black and white portrait, made with precision. This is not a photograph in the conventional sense, but an object with weight, presence, and permanence. It is crafted to last using archival pigments and paper, meaning the finished work sits between photography and sculpture, occupying a room with authority.
